04.27.08It was hot in Stratford
New York Marathon (0)My friend Andy and I did the Stratford Half Marathon today. I think the field was about 3000 in all with some very strong runners doing the full marathon. We only did the half but it tough as the sun came out and it go quite warm for April. I finished in 1 Hour 43 or thereabouts, around a minute faster than Silverstone which considering I haven't run all week I was quite pleased with. Any finished in just under 2 hours which he was very pleased with. Hard work but another one under the belt. Karl

04.18.08Last long training run before Stratford
New York Marathon (0)I've been out 3 times this week and done 6.5, 4 and 6.5 miles with a gym session in between. I've been using some protein shakes this week and it has really helped with recovery. My legs have a felt as lot better as a result. I'm going to go for 12-14 miles this weekend then do a couple of 6 mile runs in the week before resting for 2-3 days before Stratford. There are only 2 of us doing it now as 1 guy has picked up an injury. I'm looking forward to it now.
