Fitsense Sports are the UK distributors of the F3 HydroPool muscular recovery systems which include the Hydropool Classic and the Hydropool Road Pod.

Who is F3 HydroPool

F3 HydroPool is a brand of products developed by F3 Engineering to aid the muscular recovery of individuals, teams, athletes and contact sports persons alike post training, competition, match or event. The products are scientific and hygienic alternatives to widely used "ice baths" that are temperature controllable between 4-16°C. (Based on guidelines set by Australian Institute of Sports and their own independent research) We currently have 2 products (Classic and Road Pod).

Why use Cold Water Immersion ("Ice Baths") after exercise?

When you get an injury the first protocol is to apply an ice pack to the injured area. Well an ice bath works on the same principles only for general recovery and not just in the case of an injury. In simple terms an “ice bath” induces a flush like action that helps the muscles, tendons, bones, nerves and all the different tissues used in sport recover from their workout in the following way:

• “Ice bath” narrows blood vessels and thus decreases blood flow. This reduces swelling and tissue breakdown thus relieving pain

• Once out of the “ice bath” the underlying tissues warm up. This causes a surge of oxygen filled blood to flow back to the muscles. This helps return by products of cellular breakdown to the lymph system for efficient recycling by the body

• Main by product is lactic acid which can cause cramp, fatigue and a general feeling of tiredness in the muscles (delayed onset of muscle soreness (DOMS))

Use of F3 HydroPool products has proven successful in recovery for both contact and non-contact sports persons alike.

Why Use The HydroPool

• It is ice free and therefore removes the cost and handling of ice

• It is hygenic as chlorinated water can be used

• The Classic version is made from 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel making it durable with minimal cleaning required

• They are temperature controlled at the touch of a button

• The cooler provides constant temperature throughout the bath and therefore removes the problem of colder water on the top of traditional ice baths
